Maasai Mara Guided Photography Safari Workshop

Join me on an amazing wildlife safari workshop. 7days/6nights in the the best place to see wildlife on the planet! Join me as we spend our days on wildlife, shooting, chasing that perfect light and making those amazing images. Free time between game drives will be filled with workshops, image reviews, 1 on 1 guidance and assistance and of course amazing meals at our lodging and relaxing time by the Boma (campfire) at the end of the day! Each workshop is limited to only 6 participants (non-shooting visitors can accompany you at a reduced rate) so that each person has dedicated 1 on 1 time with me, guided shooting and hands on feedback. Your images and photography comes first. Daily reviews, feedback and discussion will have you shooting better at the end of this week than ever before.

This safari is based at a luxury-tented accommodation inside the Mara. I will be on hand at all times to assist you with any questions or concerns you might have. The week spent in the Mara will be filled with game drives and enhancing your photography skills.

Participants will be riding in a specifically dedicated safari vehicle with guides who know exactly where to place us for the best photos, with no more than 3 guests per vehicle - allowing each person to shoot from either side of the vehicle. We will be out at first light to capture the morning rays, enjoy a bush breakfast and then back to camp for workshops or rest, lunch and then afternoon tea before we head out for our evening game drive.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International and transfer to Four Points Sheraton which is safely located inside the secure zone at Jomo Kenyatta and only 5 minutes from the arrivals terminal. After a long set of flights there is no need to sit in Nairobi traffic for an extra hour! A lush and comforting room awaits you and we will meet either that evening for drinks at the bar or at an early Breakfast the next morning.

Day 2

Transfer to Nairobi Wilson airport for the short flight to Maasai Mara, there we will be greeted by our guides from the lodge and take a “get to know the Mara” game drive as we head to lodge for lunch. After our orientation and lunch we will check our gear, do full introductions and head out on our evening game drive. Upon return, we’ll have time by the Boma and then a sumptuous evening meal before turning in.

Days 3 - 6

Morning and evening game drives, workshops, optional Hot Air Balloon rides ($500 additional per person) and image reviews will fill our days. The last evening will be filled with a “sundowner” and image highlight show.

Day 7

Morning game drive with a final bush breakfast as we make our way to the airstrip for our return back to Nairobi. Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta for your departing flights home.

The best guides, the best location.

I use the best guides available and we’re based at one of the best spots in the Mara to get on to wildlife early and often. The guides know how to position vehicles not just to get close to the wildlife but also to ensure proper placement for lighting and backgrounds. While we can’t control what animals appear when or where, we do everything possible to ensure you have the best opportunities to get “the” shot of a lifetime.

Terms & Conditions

Payment of a 50% deposit confirms the reservations with the balance to be paid 100 days prior to the date of arrival. Cancellations made before 90 days before the trip dates will result in full refunds while cancellations made after that 90 day window will result in 0% returned.
